The course will consist of four disciplines, swimming, mountain biking, trail running and kayaking. The course is to be completed by teams consisting of two individuals.

The organizers reserve the right to add, modify, cancel, or change the course at any time.

The sea course for swimming and kayaking will be indicated by marker buoys.

The mountain bike and running trail will be marked by signs/arrows/ribbons/paper trail/rope/marker tape. This marked trail must be followed. Short cutting the trail is not allowed and any competitor infringing this regulation will be disqualified.

For the trail running and the kayak sections the course must be completed by both competitors.

For the swimming and the mountain bike sections the team will select one of its participants to complete one section and the other section will be completed by the other member. One member cannot complete both sections.

Section 1 - Swimming. The competition will begin at the Start Line outside Bubu Resort with a short sprint around markers on the beach and then into the sea around marker buoys. The swimming distance will be around 1.5km and we anticipate the duration of the swimming for the leading competitors to be near to 20 minutes. On completion of the swimming the participant will pass the team 'marker' (bracelet) to the other member of the team so that he can start the mountain bike section.

Section 2 - Mountain Biking. The mountain bike section will consist of two circuits around the course. One circuit will be approximately 3.5km long. We expect the leading competitors to finish the section in approximately one hour. On completion of the mountain bike section the two competitors will start the trail running section together.

Section 3 - Trail Running. This will consist of running round the island, scrambling, hiking where necessary. As the island is small there will be the opportunity for unscrupulous competitors to short cut the course. Marshals will be located at strategic positions to monitor the competitors, take their numbers and/or hand out a token to verify that they have passed the strategic points.
We anticipate the length of the run to be of the order of 7km and the time taken by the leading runners to be 1 to 11/2hours.

Section 4 - Kayaking.Once the competitors have finished the trail running leg they will pass through the transition point and continue to the kayak section. The kayaks are two man kayaks to be used by both members of the team. Times will be recorded at the transition point. From the end of the running leg to the start of the kayak section there will be the opportunity for the competitors to change clothing etc. The kayak and paddle will be taken from a designated area, and the buoyancy vest will be taken from the control point and competitors will have to complete a course around marker buoys to a final gate and return the kayak and paddle as they found them, to the designated place. Failure to return the kayak and paddle properly to the designated area will result in a time penalty. Failure to wear the buoyancy vest will result in disqualification of the competitor. After returning the kayak and equipment competitors will run to the finish line with the buoyancy vest. The buoyancy vest will be returned at the finish line and the finishing time recorded.

We anticipate the leading competitors to complete the kayak course in approximately 30 minutes.

In order to demonstrate that the competitors have fully completed the course, marshals at strategic points will monitor the competitors passing their station where their numbers will be noted and/or tokens will be given for verification at the finish line.
