PERHENTIAN ISLAND CHALLENGE 2008

The Perhentian Island Challenge 2008 is a weekend-getaway adventure-race which will feature two levels of outdoor-adventure racing in the beautiful outdoors of Terengganu’s Perhentian Island.

Race Day will be on 18th October 2008 and organizers have custom-made Race Packages to ensure all participants are taken care of from Kuala Lumpur, throughout the event; and then back again to Kuala Lumpur.

A total of RM50,000* in CASH Prizes has been allocated for this years winners, while sponsor and co-sponsor prizes will also be up for grabs.

ELITE RACE

For the well trained, the ELITE race level will allow you to test your physical capabilities and will highlight the following principles:

Swimming (obstacle courses or with life jackets only)

Kayaking

Running Trail / Beach

Cargo Net

Mystery Tests / Brain Teasers

Water Orienteering

The ELITE race will be open to teams of 2 and will be broken into Men’s category and Mixed Category with a race course that is expected to test the teams for between 4 to 5 hours.

NOVICE RACE

Organizers have decided to introduce a leisure-race level this year to accommodate the desire to race with leisure racers. The NOVICE race is an individual category (Men's and Women's) which is expected to last 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours, including the following principles:

Running

Swimming (obstacle courses or with life jackets only)

Mystery Tests / Brain Teasers

The NOVICE category is a fun / leisure race that can be participated-in by all.
(swimming skill not necessary this will be done with provided aids)

Race Registration fee:

In conjunction with Tourism Malaysia's Visit Malaysia Year 2007/2008 and leading-up to Visit Terengganu 2008, organizers have decided to introduce a SPECIAL SUBSIDIZED PACKAGE for The Perhentian Island Challenge 2008 participants.

The fee include the following:

1. Coach Transfer from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Besut on 16th October 2008 and
Coach Transfer from Kuala Besut to Kuala Lumpur on 19th October 2008.

This coach transfer will depart from Kuala Lumpur at 2300 (16/Oct)) and arrive at Kuala Besut in the morning (17/Oct).

2. Return Boat Transfers (Kuala Besut - Race Village - Kuala Besut)

3. Tent Accommodation at the Race Village (on twin sharing basis only)

4. Welcoming & Prize Presentation Dinners

5. All meals (Buffet) at Race Village

6. Race Participation & Race Kit

7. Insurance Coverage during Race

This fee is specially for Race Participants ONLY- in the ELITE & NOVICE Categories and is limited to only 60 ELITE TEAMS and 300 NOVICE Participants, on a first come first serve basis, late registration may not be entertained.
