General
Malaysia is a politically stable country whose growth has been carefully shaped by five-year strategic plans. The ultimate goal is Vision 2020, the government's plan is to become a fully developed, matured and knowledge-rich society by the year 2020. Realizing the importance of information technology as a catalyst for national development, the Government initiated the construction of the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC), a fully wired high-tech business park. This Corridor is a 15 kilometre wide by 50 kilometre long zone, extending south from the Kuala Lumpur City Centre, an intelligent precinct to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. This zone houses, amongst others, Putrajaya, the new seat of Malaysia's electronic government.
